Delivering on our promise for continuous improvement, we are constantly thinking of ways to grow and diversify our business to match the complex demands of the market. We aim to provide more employment and expand our portfolio for a wider range of solutions through our latest ventures. Samir Gasim Group has established itself as a trusted partner with all the relevant stakeholders and

holds a strong license to operate. Our history
combined with our progressive business approach makes us an ideal catalyst for driving forward successful businesses in new sectors. Our strong local presence and extensive experience in Sudan well positions us to expand into other sectors building on the vast business expertise and networks we have acquired over time. We are proud to

introduce the first of the latest additions to the Samir Gasim family of business; Ahmed Gasim Pharma, named after our founder in tribute to his legacy of contributing to a healthier community. The second is Komnut- a Sudanese peanut processing and export company.

AHMED GASIM PHARMA CO.LTD

Ahmed Gasim Pharma is currently in its inception phase, and we are in discussions with several multinational companies for Sudan representation.

Although the pharmaceutical industry is a new business sector for Samir Gasim Group, our experience in establishing Ahmed Gasim Hospital and chairing the board of trustees has provided us with valuable networks and extensive exposure in the field. Additionally, the group has established itself as a trusted partner in its engagements with health authorities and medical professionals.

We have a clear vision to position Ahmed Gasim Pharma as one of Sudan’s premier pharmaceutical companies, leveraging our industry knowledge and strong commitment to serving our communities. We believe that our existing capabilities equip us well to enter the pharmaceutical sector successfully.

Our growing distribution fleet and deep understanding of Sudan’s diverse distribution channels enable us to reach all markets effectively. Moreover, our stringent Health and Safety standards meet the highest quality requirements, and our packaging facilities provide safe storage and distribution solutions for medicinal products.

KOMNUT INTERNATIONAL CO.LTD

Komnut is a joint venture between Samir Gasim Group and Green Valley Group—a pioneer in the peanuts industry. The underlying business purpose of Komnut is to revive the processing and export of Sudanese peanuts and reposition Sudan as one of the world’s largest exporters, with the purpose slogan:

“Reintroduce the Sudanese Origin to the World”

This venture embodies our values of giving back to our origins and playing an active role as a key economic player while striving to achieve diversification and long-term growth.

Sudan was once one of the largest global peanut suppliers, exporting an impressive 1,000,000 tons of peanuts annually. Its leading position was so well-established that the product became widely known as “Sudanese Peanut” in Arabic. However, this dominance was drastically affected by the discovery of Aflatoxin—a group of carcinogenic toxins that significantly impacted the industry.

Aflatoxin is produced by two fungi, Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus, which naturally occur in various commodities consumed by both humans and animals, including peanuts. At high levels, these toxins can severely affect the liver and are classified as a known human carcinogen.

In many developing countries, including Sudan, aflatoxin contamination poses a major health risk due to the high levels of contaminated products consumed. In contrast, developed nations employ advanced technology to test products at various stages of the food chain, ensuring safety. Strict Health and Safety regulations in the agribusiness sector also guarantee that contaminated products are identified and eliminated.

Samir Gasim Group saw an opportunity in this context; Komnut is the epitome of a responsible business venture that will adopt a value chain approach to benefit local farmers and help close a global supply gap. This will restore Sudan’s export leadership position and eliminate a hazardous health risk from the consumption of contaminated peanuts in the region.

The venture will apply innovation and technology to empower small-scale farmers by increasing their access to technology and finance whilst catering to a gap in the global market. SGG is in the process of constructing a state-of-the-art seed processing facility in Khartoum State. Our innovation offer includes: traceability, technical expertise and machinery, and an Aflatoxin Management System.

Traceability

To ensure that our main stakeholders are informed and adequately trained, we have designed a “Farmers’ Program” to maintain the quality of our products while harnessing the latest technology to guarantee the traceability of any toxins at all stages of agricultural production.

Peanut farmers will be provided with the technology and training to report on “Muddy Boots”, a computerized traceability system that offers customers full transparency of the agricultural product from seeding through all farming phases up to harvesting. More importantly, Muddy Boots ensures that any pesticides used in planting comply with EU standards.

Technical Expertise and Machinery

Komnut will provide farmers with the necessary technical expertise, including:

  • Seed varieties to enhance productivity
  • Fertilization programs for optimized growth
  • Water management systems to maximize efficiency and yield

SILVER FIELDS AGRICULTURE PROJECT

Yet another exciting new venture boasted by Samir Gasim Group is the Silver Fields Agriculture- a large scale 5,000 feddan agricultural project located not far from the Gasim’s family hometown in Northern State of Dongola. After acquiring agri-business experience from the establishment of the 14,800 Acres Seleit Project in Khartoum producing Alfalfa, Melons and operating a slaughter house, the group decided to replicate the best practice. Silver Fields will operate a modern irrigation project sourcing our water from the largest water reserve in the world; the Nubian aquifer. Planned

produce from the project include wheat, ground Nuts and sunflower. Staying true to its roots, SGG aims to create value for local farmers and the community through producing affordable, healthy and nutritious products. The group will build farmers’ capacity and increase their production capabilities through access to knowledge and innovative technologies. We firmly believe that this value-chain approach will create lasting impacts for local communities, increase food security and contribute to the national economy
